Brittain
Industries flight control systems are backed by many years of in-flight
experience, offering unparalleled dependability and safety.
Originally founded in 1958 as Brittain Aircraft
Enterprises, we led the way in autopilot innovation. Building our systems largely around Alick
Clarkson’s invention of the aircraft automatic pilot, which utilized a “canted”
gyro to sense both roll and yaw of the aircraft simultaneously, Brittain
patented the original turn coordinator gyro, model TC100. Today Brittain holds over 300 Supplemental
Type Certificates in more than 278 different aircraft, has registered seven
patents and four trademarks.
The Brittain TC100 autopilot turn coordinator
gyro operates from vacuum and electric power sources, either or both, providing
indicator display even through an emergency.
This safety feature is unique to the Brittain TC100 turn coordinator.
Our full line of two and three axis autopilots is
modular in concept. Working off the
basic wing leveling systems, Brittain’s modular program provides the ability to
upgrade at minimal expense.
